Phineas Pope is a classically trained musician with both solo and ensemble experience. He is an independent music contractor for churches in the Twin Cities and Des Moines and currently serves as the Musical Director for Capitol Hill Christian Church in Des Moines. Pope has won numerous awards for classical and jazz performance including First Place for piano performance at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand in 2016. Other performance locations have included the The Mary Tyler Moore House, and the Mall of America. Pope is a vocal piano accompanist for award winning cabaret and jazz singers including Joey Clark and Jennifer Eckes and was the official pianist for Miss Minnesota in 2018 and 2019.
Phineas Pope is currently working toward a B.A. in Music at Drake University studying piano with Nicholas Roth and organ with Ruth Harris.
Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Phineas Pope began playing at the age of six, perfecting his technical abilities and unique sound. Following years of experience performing on stages and at events, as well as lending his musical talent to different recordings, Phineas Pope has been making a name for himself in the Twin Cities and Des Moines.
